Winfield, KS — Winning is hard, and we are very proud of the way our team competed and found a way to win. We played a little sloppy early in the game, especially as we struggled to rebound. Once the nerves settled, our group really settled in and controlled the tempo and flow of the game. We had an outstanding shooting night from 3, finishing 10/24 at 42%. D’Shonda Hunt rallied our group and took control of the boards by grabbing 17 rebounds for the game. Christy Wiebe led the team in scoring with 20 points. She also added 6 rebounds and 4 steals. In her first college game as a freshman, Macey Pond led the team with 5 steals. She also chipped in 7 rebounds and 13 points. Also in her first College game, freshman Bryanna Williams had a stellar shooting night as she was 4/6 for 3FG. Denisha Anderson, Haven Matthews, Heather Chiesi, Devyn Woods, Kim Duhon, and Hunter Garcia rounded out a team effort from start to finish. We’re looking forward to our next matchup again on our home court, on November 3rd against Randall University.
