Santa Ana, CA — The Lady Knights pulled out another close game. Outstanding defense was the key to winning the tight battle. Arissa Calvillo had the first great play of the game, throwing out a runner at the plate from short left field. Justine Boyle threw a runner out at the plate and made two more diving plays at the hot corner. Emma Paul threw two runners out at third, ending Brea rallies in the 5th and the 7th. Timely hitting, and much improved base running was the catalyst for the Knights on offense. Mikayla Prudholme score twice, the first time following an aggressive advance on a ball in the dirt, and the second time after stealing third base. Emma Paul was clutch in the bottom of the sixth inning, hitting the ball hard to center field and knocking in the game winning run. The highlight of the afternoon was Arissa Calvillo's inside the park home run in the second inning. Very proud of the way the girls have gotten to work everyday, looking for ways to improve and giving themselves a chance to win every time out! Way to go Knights! Coach Wright
