Coquille, OR — In a physical back-and-forth battle, Autumn Murray netted two goals as Cascade Christian outscored Coquille/Myrtle Point 6-4 on the road. Five players made the scoring column for the victorious Challengers. After falling behind early, Murray knotted up the match at 1-1 in the 25th minute. Cascade Christian Homecoming Queen Ellie Vanlandingham scored three minutes later, thanks in part to a pass from Murray. Just before the half, the Red Devils tied up the match, and then went up 3-2 eight minutes into the second. Bella Williams broke into the scoring column to tie in the 50th minute of the match. Murray bagged the go-ahead score three minutes after that. Freshman Aubrey Hess continues displaying her potential as a playmaker, as she scored on a putback off of an Emma Coats shot. Sophomore Taylor Folin scored in the same fashion off of a Coats attempt in the 67th minute. One minute later, Coquille/Myrtle Point scored one more time, but that was it as GK Shiloh Rud made a save with two minutes to go, as the 6-4 score held. The Challengers continue to rise as a program. After winning just one match last season, the Challenger women are 4-5-1 in conference action. Cascade will face off next against North Valley on Thursday at Lithia & Driveway Field #13 at 4:00 pm. By Jim McCoy
