Medford, OR — It was described as a “tough back and forth game, where both teams tried to manage the play and control the ball.” North Valley- undefeated in conference play- held off Cascade Christian 4-1. The Challengers’ lone goal came when Aubrey Hess lofted a corner kick that Maddie Winters controlled and passed to Taylor Folin for a successful shot. Coach Hillis said his team had early breakaways that could not be converted into points. Jordynn Jones played strong defensively and in the midfield, while Bella Williams showed a lot of grit in a very physical battle. Freshmen defenders Mae Ferreira, Emma Matters, and Amelia Vanlandingham made great efforts defensively.  Josie Scaglione had four saves at goalkeeper on another where she was tested numerous times.
