Medford, OR — On Senior Day, Cascade Christian played with intensity against a fierce Lakeview squad. The desired result didn’t happen, but it wasn’t for lack of effort. Within the first ten minutes, it was clear that the Challenger Ladies really wanted this game. Lakeview’s aggressive forwards pressured the defensive line of Mae, Jordynn and Amelia, and after pushing out a defender’s legs and winning the ball, Lakeview went up 1 in the 15th minute. Just a few short minutes later Aubrey Hess was fouled hard on a breakaway towards goal, losing her shoe and slamming her head, which removed her from the game. Our prayers go out to her and her quick recovery. Lakeview continued to batter the challengers, but great shots on goal also continued coming from Taylor Folin, Bella Williams, Ellie Vanlandingham, Emma Coats, and Autumn Murray. After conceding 4 more goals, but not without Josie Scaglione making double digit saves, including a few in the middle of traffic falling on her, the Challengers answered back. A great play from the Forward Ellie, who worked it up the side, passed the ball around until Maddie Winters found Autumn Murray who buried a shot into the corner of the net. Our salute to seniors Autumn Murray, Ellie Vanlandingham, and Bella Williams. It is a pleasure to watch you play. Best wishes for wherever the Lord directs your paths. You are champions in our book.
