Brookings, OR — With upwards of 20 saves for GK Josie Scaglione, opportunity after opportunity created by Seniors Ellie Vanlandingham from crosses, Bella Williams from midfield play, and Autumn Murray from tackles in the centerfield, and several great shots by Taylor Folin and Emma Coats, it was a great performance by the lady Challengers amidst a rainy cold last Varsity game of the season.   Going down early from a missed clearance by our defenders, we fought for another 35 minutes until Brookings had a great bit of skill, going up 2-0 at the half.   After addressing some positioning and tactical shifts at half-time, we came out with strong dominating possession. Each team traded goals early in the second half.    A great link-up play in the midfield from Bella Williams and Angelica Arce got the ball to Autumn Murray who played a through ball to a breaking Emma Coats who rocketed it past the keeper.   Another goal seemed inevitable, but the strength and size of Brookings held up against Cascade’s possessional play. With two minutes left in the game, several hard tackles against Mae Ferreira who held the center back position wore down the defense and Brookings scored to seal the victory. By Jim McCoy
