Bangor, ME — BANGOR, Maine – Bailey Donovan had 22 points and 16 rebounds – both game-high totals – to lead the Husson University Eagles over the University of Southern Maine Huskies 72-41 in a non-conference women's basketball game Wednesday night at Newman Gym. Facing each other for the 54th time, Husson has now won eight straight over the Huskies. USM leads the overall series 34-20. The Records: Southern Maine (1-2) Husson University (2-2) How It Happened: - Husson nearly shot 50 percent from the field (18-for-38) in the opening half to jump out to a commanding 44-for-23 lead at the half. Donovan had 14 points and nine rebounds in the opening two quarters and was 6-for-8 from the floor. - The Eagles also benefitted from a 42-27 edge in rebounding, including a 15-5 mark in offensive rebounds. Husson scored 19 of its points off of second-chance shots. - Southern Maine struggled to find the net shooting just 28 percent (14-for-50) from the field and turned the ball over 21 times. Junior guard Ashlee Aceto (South Portland, Maine) was 5-for-11 from the floor and snagged six rebounds in a strong performance.
