Providence, RI — PROVIDENCE, Rhode Island – Angelina Nardillio had a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Rhode Island College Anchormen to a 63-37 win over the University of Southern Maine Huskies in a Little East Conference women's Basketball game Wednesday night. The Records: Southern Maine (2-4, 1-1 LEC) Rhode Island College (6-2, 2-0 LEC) How It Happened: Rhode Island College outscored Southern Maine 21-6 in the first quarter and comfortably led the rest of the way. While neither team was hot from the floor, were just 2-for-9 in the first compared to 6-for-16 for the Anchormen. Trailing 10-6 after a jumper from junior Ashlee Aceto (South Portland, Maine) with 4:07 left in the quarter, USM saw its disadvantage grow as RIC closed on an 11-0 run. Both teams were even in the second scoring 10 each, but RIC remained comfortably in front 31-16. RIC had another big quarter in the third, and led 48-25. USM kept pace in the fourth but never got closer than 20 for the 63-37 final. Inside The Stats: Southern Maine shot 21.1 percent from the field, making just 12-of-57 from the floor> Junior Amy Fleming (Berwick, Maine) led USM with 10 points, four rebounds and two assists. Junioir Franny Ramsdell (Wells, Maine) had nine points and seven rebounds. They combined to shoot 7-for-22 and turned the ball over eight times.
