Medford, OR — With enough numbers to field a junior varsity team, the Challengers were able to schedule some matches for the freshmen and sophomores, and Cascade Christian's JV capitalized and capped off their season with a win against Illinois Valley. Sophomore Jordynn Jones helped lend a hand to the young group and scored for Cascade three minutes in thanks to an assist by Sienna Wilcox. Freshman GK Shiloh Rud was tested with three shots in the first ten minutes, which were all turned away, including a diving save. Taylor Folin extended the Challengers' lead, thanks again to the passing of Wilcox. Folin returned the favor by passing the ball to Sienna for a 17th-minute score.  The match provided extended minutes for freshman players such as Emma Matters and Callie Krutsch. Matters fired off first-half shots, and Krutsch was successful on a shot disallowed due to an offsides call. Later in the first half, Taylor bagged the brace with a shot into the top corner. In the second half, the Cougars scored two goals in rapid succession in the 52nd and 54th minutes. Rud turned away two more IV shots as the score held at 5-2. By Jim McCoy
