Glen Rock, NJ — On a beautiful fall night the Scarlets played their first game against Glen Rock since the playoff win in 1995. That legendary 1995 team went on to win the State Championship at Giants Stadium. After a slow start in the first half, the Scarlets fought back and didn’t allow a point in the second half. In the end Glen Rock’s defense, which is top 5 in the county, proved to be too much for the Scarlets to get a rhythm on offense. The final score was 13-7 after Brevin Cooney ran for a touchdown. These seniors leave a lasting impression on the Scarlet football program. They are responsible for setting the culture, with last years seniors, that got us into the State Playoffs 2 years in a row. The culture is built on discipline, hard work, but most importantly RELATIONSHIPS. Caring for each other and trusting each other is the only way we play hard for each other. As their coach, they make me better just as much as I try to make them better. The lessons learned in tough losses like this are just as valuable to life as winning. I am very excited and look forward to building strong relationships with our underclassmen throughout the off-season conditioning program. We will miss the seniors very much. RP will always be home and Scarlets football will always be family for life. FOR OUR SCARLET FANS/FAMILY: The team cannot thank our fans and family enough for your strong support all season long. Whether it’s online or in the stands, you guys are always there cheering us on and motivating us to play our hardest. We sincerely appreciate you guys. It’s a great day to be a Scarlet. Until next season… GO SCARLETS!!!
