Grand Rapids, MI — GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - A slow start by the Madonna University women's basketball team resulted in an 85-55 road loss at Cornerstone University. HOW IT HAPPENED: The host Golden Eagles came out firing on all cylinders with a 15-2 run to begin the game. Madonna showed some life towards the end of the first quarter, and they trailed 27-11. The second quarter was much closer points-wise, as Cornerstone outscored the Crusaders 20-15 and took a 47-26 lead into the halftime locker room. Madonna was led by Ti'Syn Callahan with eight points and Caprice Augustine with seven at the half. In the second half, the Golden Eagles continued to dominate the Crusaders, especially from three-point range. Madonna was outscored 38-29 in the final two periods. INSIDE THE NUMBERS: Augustine led Madonna with 13 points Paige Humerickhouse posted 12 points and grabbed six rebounds Marcela Rodriguez had a solid game for the Crusaders, finishing with 12 points and eight rebounds. Cornerstone was led by Maddison Fulks with 18 points.
