Lexington, MA — "Mama said that there'd be days like this".....That was the feeling walking out of the rink today. Concord-Carlisle was opportunistic in burying their opportunities today en route to a 6-0 rout of Wachusett. Concord-Carlisle scored 1 in the 1st, 3 in the second and 2 more in the 3rd to hand Wachusett its first loss of the season. The Mountaineers outshot the Patriots 55 - 35 but Concord-Carlisle's goaltender was outstanding and their defense limited any second chance opportunities by controlling sticks and clearing pucks away from the front of the net. Wachusett had stretches of controlling the play in which Concord-Carlisle had trouble getting the puck out of their own end, but ultimately, could not poke one home. With the loss, Wachusett falls to 5 and 1 on the season and has 7 days to recoup and recharge before returning to the ice against Marlboro on Wednesday, January 4th.
