Westborough, MA — Casey Dmochowski remained solid between the pipes for Wachusett on Friday night, stopping all 22 Lancer shots to earn his second shutout of the year. After a scoreless first period, Wachusett got going at the 12:21 mark of the second period. On the power play, Dennis Jardine gave a great stretch pass to Braeden McKenzie on the far blue line to send him in on a breakaway. McKenzie snapped a shot below the blocker on the left side to put Wachusett up 1-0 heading into the third period. Matt Bjorkman also assisted on the goal. Just 2:15 into the third, Jardine would put Wachusett up 2-0 when Parker Meyer gave him a pass at the top of the circles. Jardine sniped a shot off the right post. Alec Thibeault also recorded an assist on the goal. Thomas Willman would score the insurance goal at 6:42 of the third when Parker Meyer fed him a pass at the point. Willman fired a shot that broke through the goalies glove into the back of the net. Bjorkman got the play started winning a puck down low and giving it to Meyer. The team is now 9 and 4 on the season and will return to conference play with a home tilt against Groton-Dunstable on Wednesday night.
