Campbellsport, WI — Our Varsity girls fought hard in cold and damp conditions to come away with a tie against a highly decorated and experienced Campbellsport team. Port looked disciplined at the plate with contributions coming up and down the lineup. We ran the bases well, executed hit and runs, bunts, and steals, and showed some gritty determination against accomplished pitchers. EP and Hope delivered some pop in the middle of the lineup with extra base hits, and overall we showed some very encouraging signs for our offense by fouling off tough pitches and putting the ball in play with runners in scoring position. In the field we were led by two outstanding pitching performances by Savanna and Abby. In atrocious pitching conditions, they battled their tails off to keep us in the game to the very last pitch. Also, a huge shout out to our Freshmen players Shelby, Savanna, and Claudia. They all contributed mightily with multiple RBI's at the plate, and came up clutch in the darkness and pressure of the final inning. A great way to start the season. Many positive takeaways, a few key things to work on, but most importantly we played as a team, fought to the end, and supported each other. Great job! Have an awesome Spring break and stay tuned for some practice opportunities for those in town. -Coach Ryder
