Port Washington, WI — In one of the most bizarre games of softball you will ever see, Port outhit Whitefish Bay 18 to 13, head coach Ben Navigato was ejected, and our Pirates somehow lost the game by mercy rule after holding a one run lead entering the 6th innings. Down 9-0 after the 1st, our offense crawled valiantly back into the game and was clicking on all cylinders up and down the lineup. Notable performances came from Emily Pujanauski (5 RBI's), Hope Gilhooly (3 RBI's), Savanna Miller (3 RBI's), Paige Schuenemann (3 hits), and freshman Claudia Ryder who in her conference debut went 3 for 4 hitting in the ninth spot. Hats off to a tough Whitefish outfit who in the end threw more strikes and made the necessary plays down the stretch. Port face West Bend West at home on Thursday, 4.15p at TJ fields.
