Guyton, GA — The Rebels worked through a slow start to hold on for the win. The first game jitters were definitely apparent as the Rebels allowed for a late comeback by South Effingham which was aided by several costly turnovers in the final minutes of the game. RJ Chapin led the team in goals netting 3 while Evan Way led the team in points (7) and assists (6). Scoring came from 6 different Rebels on the night. As for faceoffs Ian Johnsen controlled 11 of 17 faceoffs going 65% at the dot. The defense kept the rebels in the game even after some unfortunate turnovers on offense. Harris Goebel lead the defense with 4 forced turnovers and Cooper Nease and Jayden Darwood grabbed 8 and 7 ground balls respectively. Though the effort was enough to secure the win this group has some growing to do with tougher teams headed their way. The offensive MVP for the game is Evan Way and the Defensive MVP is Cooper Nease
