South Pasadena, CA — In an exciting back-and-forth game, the Varsity Tigers emerged victorious in the 9th inning when Nolan Adams reached on an error and Quinn Sterling ran home to put the Tigers up 5-4 against their league rivals Monrovia. Ben Petrillo started for the Tigers, pitching five innings, striking out three. Benjamin Regan came in relief, pitching three innings and striking out two. Luke Riffle got the win, with an inning of no-hit baseball. The Tigers continued their hot hitting, pounding out nine hits. Riffle and Sterling had two apiece, while Jason Yipp, Raphi Hall, Devin Robinson Jr., Jack Holley, and Griffin Johnson all contributing to the offensive barrage. South Pasadena now sits atop the Rio Hondo League standings with three consecutive wins. League play continues on Friday, March 17 with a game against Temple City.
