Port Washington, WI — Our girls were beaten by an inspired Nicolet defense tonight in front of a huge home crowd. . Although Port won the game after the 1st inning, we couldn't erase an 8 run deficit. Regardless of the tough loss, Port had some encouraging signs with Sierra Miller settling in for 3 scoreless innings, and senior Emily Pujanauski going 2 for 4 and hitting her first home run of the season. Other notable performances came from Sophomore and freshman hitters Hope Gilhooly and Claudia Ryder with two hits each at the plate. Port travel to Sheboygan for tournament play this weekend before a grueling stretch of 5 games in a row next week.
