Anacortes, WA — Bellingham is a quality opponent, and our boys played them well. The score line of this game is a bit deceptive because it was 1-0 deep into the game, and we had several chances to equalize before Bellingham scored off a counter attack to go up by two and then put another away in the last two minutes when we were throwing numbers up and taking a lot of risks to score. The first half of the game Bellingham really took it to us. They are fast and organized and pressed us hard. We did not do ourselves any favors as we continually attempted to possess by dropping the ball to our back field and playing into their pressure. We made some much needed adjustments at halftime and actually had the better of the play for the first twenty-five minutes of the second half. Bellingham was on their heels during that time, and the score line would have been dramatically different had we put one of our chances away. Overall, I was really pleased at our boys’ ability to make the necessary adjustments and come out strong in the second half.
