Laguna Niguel, CA — The varsity golf teams from Laguna Beach High School and Fountain Valley High School squared off on a windy day at the challenging El Niguel Country Club course in Laguna Niguel, California. The match was a closely contested affair, but it was Fountain Valley who emerged victorious with a score of 225 to Laguna Beach's 236. The El Niguel Country Club course provided a difficult test for both teams, with its narrow fairways and tricky greens. The players demonstrated good effort and mental perseverance on the difficult course, but it was Fountain Valley who was able to maintain their composure in the windy conditions and deliver a winning performance. The Breakers played well and bounced back from a disappointing score in our last match, finishing with our lowest team score of the season. Top performers included junior, Davis Dix, who finished with his best score of the season with a 45, and junior, Russell Franconi-Krychman, who finished with team low score of 43. Junior Evan Kretschmer also played well with his season-low score on the El Niguel course, posting a 49. Laguna Beach's remaining scores included Kiyan Arshadi (49), Chase Tyson (50), Hudson Mills (51), and Tristan Reidel (53).
