Solon, OH — The Bears had to use some free baseball tonight and in some very wet conditions for both teams to pull out a 5-3 win. Jackson was paced on the mound by James Bossart 4 innings and Carson Pastorius (4 innings) (2-0) who held a dangerous lineup to 3 hits over 8 innings. The Bears we paced by Carter Mottice and Eric Freetage both with 3 hits on the night including a 2B each. Freetage added 3 RBIs to lead the offense. Solid defense on the turf and a couple ball hawking catches in the outfield allowed the Bears to work out of a couple jams with limited damage. The Bears took the lead in the 8th with a safety squeeze by Freetage scoring Kyle Andrews who led off with a single up the middle. After a 10 pitch walk from Griffin Cochran... Layne Keller RBI walk with a full count extended the lead to 5-3. Pastorius made quick work in the bottom half of the 8th in the rain getting a pop out and two strike outs to end the game. The Bears are back in action next week hosting the Lake Blue Streaks next Tues home 6pm.
