Cass City, MI — Cass City Red Hawks Junior Varsity took Monday's game in dramatic fashion, with an 11-10 walk-off victory over Hemlock. Cass City Red Hawks Junior Varsity trailed 10-9 in the bottom of the fifth inning when Trevor Tietjens singled on a 2-2 count, scoring two runs. Both offenses were strong at the plate as Cass City Red Hawks Junior Varsity collected six hits and Hemlock eight in the high-scoring affair Cass City Red Hawks Junior Varsity got things moving in the first inning. Hayden Anthes drove in one when Anthes singled. Cass City Red Hawks Junior Varsity scored three runs in the third inning. The big inning was thanks to a triple by Mason Brown and a sacrifice fly by Dylan Severance. Hemlock scored five runs in the second inning. Hemlock big bats were led by Hollingsworth, Lyscas, and Vasher, who each had RBIs in the inning. Griffin Weiler led things off on the mound for Cass City Red Hawks Junior Varsity. The righty went one and two-thirds innings, allowing five runs on four hits and striking out three. Dunton was on the pitcher's mound for Hemlock. The hurler surrendered nine runs on five hits over four innings, striking out four. Vasher threw one-third of an inning in relief. Brown went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Cass City Red Hawks Junior Varsity in hits. Anthes led Cass City Red Hawks Junior Varsity with two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with seven stolen bases. Hemlock racked up eight hits on the day. Vasher and Dunton each managed multiple hits for Hemlock.
