West Covina, CA — After trailing the majority of the game, the Charter Oak chargers boys basketball team found some energy in the last two minutes of their contest versus West Covina High to redeem the evening. The Chargers couldn’t seem to find the right combination of defensive stops and offensive bursts to overtake the Bulldogs until the final couple minutes of play. With just over a minute left the Chargers took the lead for the first time since early in the first quarter. West Covina responded tying up the game at 61 with eight seconds remaining. Charter Oak set up an isolation play to close the game and senior Forward Jermaine Braddock closed out the game with a driving layup as time expired. The Chargers (14-6, 3-2) were led in scoring by Braddock with 27 points. Chase Evans added 16 and Noah Que dropped nine, included a clutch three late in the fourth quarter. West Covina finishes the first half of league 5-18, 1-4. The Chargers return home on Friday to face the Diamond Ranch Panthers to start the second have a league.
