Lakeville, MN — It came down to the last play, but Burnsville Varsity Blaze was on the wrong end of a 7-6 defeat to Lakeville South Varsity Cougars on Monday. The game was tied at six with the Cougars batting in the bottom of the seventh when an error scored one run for the walk off win for the Cougars. The Blaze collected six hits in the high-scoring affair. Cole Sieben and Eli Keirstead each managed two hits to lead the Blaze, while Darren Einberger and Bryce Soberski each had singles. The Blaze fired up the offense in the first inning, loading the bases and then scoring runs on wild pitches to jump out to the early 2-0 lead. Nicholas Meuser took the loss for the Blaze, the righthander surrendered three runs on three hits over one and one-third innings, while striking out three. Nick Discher started the game for the Blaze. Discher surrendered four runs on three hits over five innings, striking out six and walking none.
