Grandville, MI — The Caledonia Boys Golf team responded to their coaches message and came to play at Sunnybrook! It was not the beautiful weather they were used to playing well in, but as one of the coaches said to Coach Durkee, "your boys must be good swimmers" because they played really well in the wet conditions. The golf team started strong and finished even better, finding themselves back at the top of leaderboard. With a 25 stoke difference from their last match, the team shot a 163 for a solo, 1st place finish. Highlighted by Jacob Byanski continuing his great, consistent play with a solo, 1st place individual finish and a score of 38. He bogeyed 2 of his first 3 holes, then finished with 6 pars in a row. Dylan Meduna had a T3 individual finish with a 40. He had not one, but TWO chip-in birdies! I saw the reaction to the first one of his starting hole, then was able to witness his second one on the par 5, 18th. Sam Baldwin continues his great, consistent scoring and had a T9 finish, 42, while Parker Little came in with a 43. An all-around, great win for the team. This was a sneak peak at the back 9 of the course that we will be playing for the Regional Tournament on May 30th, so it's important that we remember these good feelings at this golf course.
