Byron Center, MI — The Fighting Scots fell behind early and couldn't come back in an 8-5 loss to Byron Center Bulldogs on Saturday. Byron Center scored six runs in the bottom of the first inning, and the Scots clawed their way back into the game getting as close at 7-5 in fifth inning, but couldn't complete their comeback. Drew Drennan was on the pitcher's mound for Caledonia. He surrendered six runs on three hits over one-third of an inning. Isaac Jurmu and Mitchell Smith entered the game as relief, throwing four and two-thirds innings and one inning respectively. Caledonia Fighting Scots scattered nine hits in the game. Zack Maurer and Derek Pennington all managed multiple hits for Fighting Scots. The Scots are scheduled to be back in action on Tuesday with a double header against Grand Haven at home.
