Grand Haven, MI — Caledonia's varsity baseball team had trouble keeping up with Grand Haven in a 12-2 loss on Thursday. Grand Haven Buccaneers Varsity scored five runs in the fourth inning to break the game open. Xavier Rodriguez got the win for Grand Haven Buccaneers Varsity. Rodriguez surrendered two runs on three hits over five innings, striking out five. Mitchell Smith started the game for the Fighting Scots. The righty lasted two and two-thirds innings, allowing five hits and five runs while striking out two. Luke Shuster and Isaac Jurmu entered the game as relief, throwing one and two-thirds innings and one-third of an inning respectively. Nick Slater, Michael Douglass, and Derek Pennington all had one hit to lead the Caledonia offense.
