Bethlehem, PA — Easton Area Rovers JV defeated Bethlehem Catholic 1-0 on Thursday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Chase Kinney induced a groundout from to finish off the game and earn the save. The pitching was strong on both sides. Easton JV pitcher Zach Mattes struck out nine, while the Bethlehem Catholic hurler sat down two. Zach Mattes earned the win for Easton Area Rovers JV. The bulldog surrendered zero runs on seven hits over six and two-thirds innings, striking out nine and walking zero. After Mattes' 101st pitch, Kinney entered from the bullpen and threw the final out on one pitch to end the game.
