Apple Valley, MN — Burnsville Varsity Blaze weathered a push by Eastview Lightning Varsity in the second inning where the Blaze coughed up three runs, but the Blaze still won 6-5 on Wednesday. Charlie Novak and Louis Rogers each had RBIs in the big inning. The Lightning opened up scoring in the second inning, when Novak singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run. The Blaze pulled away for good with four runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Eric Kilgore singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run, Eli Keirstead drew a walk, scoring one run, Cole Sieben drew a walk, scoring one run, and an error scored one run for the Blaze. Gerald (JJ) Johnson was credited with the victory for the Blaze. The pitcher went five and two-thirds innings, allowing five runs on eight hits, striking out two and walking one.
