San Dimas, CA — The 7-1 Chargers held on to defeat the 8-4 Ayala Bulldogs by a score of 55-51. Charter Oak started the game strong and played well through three quarters led by Jermaine Braddock (18 pts), Chase Evans (15 pts), and Michael Anyanwu (14 pts). During that stretch the Chargers played good defense. The Chargers cooled down in the fourth and the Bulldogs scoring heated up led by Kristian Curl who scored 15 of his game high 30 points in the final quarter. In the end, it wasn’t enough for Ayala to overcome as free throws clinched the game for Charter Oak. The Chargers play a non-bracket “crossover” game on Thursday night at 8pm versus Rancho Cucamonga at Damien High school and return to bracket play at the Classic on Friday at 6pm at San Dimas High School. The Chargers face the winner of Mark Keppel and La Sierra.
