Somerset, PA — After a scoreless first quarter of the Week 1's LHAC West matchup against Somerset, Chestnut Ridge's Jeb Emerick scored on a 10 yard run in the 2nd quarter. Thomas Kostenbauder kicked the extra point to send the Lions up 7-0. Carter Wharton came up big with an 88-yard kick off return at the start of the second half, and Kostenbauder's kick was good, making the score 14-0. JaRod Wolfhope received a 27 yard pass from Nate Whysong & another successful kick from Kostenbauder. Somerset got themselves on the board in the third quarter with a 56 yard pass from Lane Lambert to Cole Parry (pass failed), but CR answered with a 15 yard run by Emerick and a Kostenbauder kick to make the score 28-6 at the end of the 3rd quarter. Fourth quarter action for Somerset's Carter Dunmyer with an 81 yard kick off return to score, and Lambert's pass to Rowan Holmes was successful for the 2 point conversion. Emerick scored his third touchdown of the game on a 3 yard run, and the kick was good, making the final score 42-14.
