Newburgh, NY — In last night's game against Newburgh Free Academy, our team faced the number one ranked team in section 9 and last year's New York State AA runner-up. Unfortunately, we lost with a final score of 56-20. Despite the three consecutive losses to some of the top teams in our section, our young team, with only a handful of players having prior varsity football experience, showed great determination and resilience. Offensively, we completed 11 passes for 179 yards and secured a touchdown. Additionally, we rushed for 185 yards on 32 carries and scored another touchdown. On the defensive side, we managed to sack the opposing quarterback a few times, one of which resulted in a scoop and score touchdown off of a fumble. While the outcome wasn't in our favor, there were many positive aspects to take away from the game, highlighting the potential of our team moving forward. Looking ahead, our team will be traveling to Goshen next Friday night in a non-league matchup. Despite the recent challenges, we're eager to continue working hard and improving as we prepare for the upcoming game. See you there!
