San Juan Capistrano, CA — JSerra JV girls remain in 2nd place as they start round 2 Trinity League play this afternoon with a rematch win vs Orange Lutheran 14-4. In a fairly balanced attack, the JV team won 8 singles sets and 6 doubles sets. Captain Arina Wagner took care of their top singles player 6-1 in the opening round, while Elliana Castro defeated their #3 player 6-0. Elliana went on to beat their #2 player 6-1 in round 2, as Arina stepped aside to allow GG Fernandez to play 2 rounds today. GG easily beat their #3 player in round 2, before going up against their #2 player in the final round. She won this set 7-5 in one of the best back and forth sets of the day. Kinsley Moore stepped in for Bry and beat both their #1 and #3 players. Alex Marsh sub’d in for Elliana and won on court 1, 6-1 in round 3. Lines 2 & 3 doubles went undefeated this afternoon. Maddy Valente and Christina Nama opened up at #2 with a 6-2 win before the Sister Act stepped in. Captain Riley and Abby Godber beat their #1 team 7-5, in a very close match, and closed out beating the #3 team 6-4. With no other subs available, Bree Johnson and Aurora Moore played 3 sets today, winning all 3, including a final round upset of the Lancer’s top doubles team on court 6.
