Slate Hill, NY — SLATE HILL, N.Y. - Andrew Foster and CJ Richards scored two goals each as the Kingston High boys soccer team opened the 2023 campaign Thursday with an impressive 8-1 non-league win over Minisink Valley. Foster scored the first goal just 53 seconds into the game off an assist from Caden Fitzgerald to give the Tigers the lead for good. Foster converted a feed from Max Maouris to make it 2-0 with 6:32 elapsed in the first half. Richards' first of two goals gave the Tigers a 5-0 lead at the 59-minute mark. Keegan Oxford, Caden Fitzgerald, Rafael Castillo and Anthony Alvarez also scored for Kingston. Fitzgerald had two assists for the Tigers, while Foster, Lorenz Piet, Thierry Vassell and Ayden Campbell each had one. The Tigers outshot Minisink Valley 22-3. Kingston goalie Chris Redding made one save. "Great team performance," Kingston coach Dan Hoffay said. "We're looking ahead to a tough test on Tuesday against Beacon.
