Medford, OR — A highly controlled game where the Challengers ladies dominated possession and had chance after chance to score. We walk away from the game thankful for the win and proud of the efforts to score and keep a clean sheet. Overall it wasn't our best game, but we showed some great moments. Most of the game we were able to keep the pressure on with the ball being in the attacking third nearly the whole game. Even after a cleared ball from the defense, center back Amelia Vanlandingham was able to win the ball and pass it forward to Mae Ferreira who found Aubrey Hess near the top of the box. After drawing in the defense she made a great assist finding Angelica Arce who put it top corner to take us up 1-0 into half. Ten minutes into the second half, a set piece play setup Taylor Folin at the top of the box who found Jordynn Jones near the pk spot who blasted a shot that was deflected by the goalkeeper. When Angelica Arce followed up the bobbled shot block, her touch set up Taylor Folin to score top corner for her first goal of the season. Fifteen minutes later, an 11 successful passing string setup Aubrey Hess in the goal box who made a quick 180 turn and shot on goal. Again the keeper spilled her saving attempt and Emma Coats was able to clean up to score the goal, giving us a comfortable 3-0 win.
