East Moline, IL — Streaks came from behind on Saturday for a huge conference win over UT. It moved the Streaks to 8-0, 3-0. Galesburg was down 11 in the first half before going on a 19-9 third quarter run to enter the fourth quarter ahead, 42-38. The Streaks never gave up the lead. Kiarra Kilgore- 25 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists Alexis Edgerson- 9 points, 3-6 from threes Antonia Kisler- 17 points, 8 rebounds, 3 steals Syriah Boyd 7 rebounds, 2 steals Crucial to the game was Ella Herchenroder with 6 assists and no turnovers. And the defense of Syriah Boyd on the 6’5” post, Alexis Edgerson on their sharp shooting guard, and Kiarra Kilgore on their playmaking forward. The victory puts the Streaks in a first place tie with Quincy. Quincy will be coming to Galesburg on Thursday. With a lot of basketball to be played, in the Maxprep rating system based on records and strength of schedule, the Streaks are graded as #1 in 3A in Illinois.
