Hamden, CT — On a chilly Thursday night the Freshman Gaels proved to be too much for the Hamden Green Dragons defeating them 42-20. The Gael's defense had two defensive scores one of which came from defense tackle Ricky Fernandez-Salvador for the play of the game. Evan "Boots" Bouteiller ran in a pick 6 making this his 5th straight game with an interception. The Gaels secondary came up with a third inception from DB Kayden Lancaster making it a third takeaway for the Shelton defense. QB2 AJ Hatfield threw his first touchdown pass to Carter Wood giving Carter his first TD of the season. The run game for the Gaels did not disappoint with another stellar game from Cole St Pierre and Evan Parker adding to Shelton's offensive performance. Next week the Gaels take on Xavier at home.
