Shelton, CT — The Gaels came out strong scoring in their opening drive with a nice long TD run from Cole St Pierre. The Gael's defense quickly got the ball back on a fumble recovery from Matt Gebuza giving the Gael's great field position for the second possession of the game. St Pierre again dominating the field with another break away run but knocked out of bounds at the 2 yard line setting the Gaels to a first and goal. A direct snap to AJ Hatfield lead to the Gaels second TD before the end of the first quarter. The Gaels defense once again coming up big with a 95 yard pick 6 from Ryan Parker to bring the lead up 21-0. The defense continued to cause problems for the Xavier offense with several tackles in the backfield and broken up passes in the secondary. The Shelton offense closed out the game with two more rushing TDs on a QB keep from Jackson Hyner and a 60 yard gash from Evan Parker. Xavier was able to get into the end zone before the end of the game on their lone TD of the night. The Gaels improve to 6-2 and take on Wilton next week for the last game of the season.
