Santa Ana, CA — The Knights really stepped up against the amazing Mater Dei team. The game started off with both teams battling to gain the upper hand. Although it could be seen that there was some nervousness in the first half, the Knights held a strong defense to keep it 0-0 into the second half. Again starting off the second half a little slow, the Knights found their groove and started connecting passes and making plays. Saul stepped up first with an amazing finish late in the second half. This gave the guys energy to keep pressing. The second goal was by Xavi beating the left back and making a fitness shot to make it 2-0. Joey quickly followed up with his opportunity on a break away placing it nicely in the left of the goal. Keeper Alex was challenged late in the game with an unfortunate PK. he stepped up and made an amazing block which Mater Dei followed up with a rebound shot. Danilo came flying in to make an amazing block which went out for a corner. unfortunately we were caught celebrating that moment and Mater Dei scored a quick corner set play. But it was too little too late and the Knights remained victorious!
