Esy, CA — The Longhorns are playoff bound after beating the Escondido Alpha Wolves 32-6 Saturday afternoon. Vista started quickly once the obligatory first turnover had been completed, scoring on 5 of 6 first half drives. Vista scored in a myriad of way including 3 rushing touchdowns (covering 48, 64 and 57 yards), 2 field goals (36 and 32 yards respectively), and a passing score that covered 66 yards. The offense is starting to gel, while the defense continues to impose its will against the foes. For its reward the 14th seeded Horns will be playing the #3 seeded Lakeside Vaqueros Black team at home in Vista this Saturday. The tilt begins at noon, and it should be an absolute hoot. The Vaqueros earned the #3 seed thanks to an outstanding 6-2 regular season. The upcoming game will be a true test for the young Longhorns. It will feature a very experienced Lakeside group versus a Longhorn team that is still learning how good they can be. To continue on the road in the playoffs the Horns will have to be at their very best. Your Roving Sports Reporter, Deeh Nice
