Anaheim, CA — When the Trinity dust cleared, there was a 2-way tie for 3rd place. JSerra was adamnat about playing off this game, which are the Trinity Bylaw Rules; but, OLu wanted a coin flip. No way were we going to settle for a coin flip for a CIF trip, it was understandable why OLu wanted that option. The first round was pretty 'sus' according to girls' venacular and it could've been worse as Jazi and Ellie were down 0-3 before sweeping 6 straight games for the win. The Lions finally woke up and captured 5 of the 6 round 2 matches to go up 8 to 4. In this round was a huge upset, Sophia Staff with Sophia Stewart taking out the Lancers top doubles team 6-4! Neeka played awesome singles, squeaking out a 6-4 contested upset, while the Fraize sisters and Scarlett served up 2 bagels. Ellie and Jazie were undefeated today, which was huge. pivotal .Scarlett, Naomi and Neeka all won 2 sets. "It took the whole season to figure out a line 3 doubles team" says Koach. "In our initial match with this team, Sofia Stewart / Bella were rotated in and had a huge upset vs OLu's #1 doubles team. Sophia Stewart repeated that feat today with Sophia Staff. Someone told me [at practice yesterday] that Staff didn't like playing singles and that was news to me. So we moved Neeka into the #3 singles spot and slid Staff over to dubs with Stewy and their preferred sides of the court paired up and it worked out great for us" The Lions move to the CIF D1 championships, something we weren't sure was going to happen this year. The CIF pairings come out Monday 11a.m. GO LIONS!
