San Juan Capistrano, CA — In a rematch of last season's CIF Division 2 Regional championship game, the JSerra Girls Water Polo team decisively knocked off the Murrieta Valley Nighthawks 12-1 Friday afternoon at JSerra High. The Lions (2-1) have now won two straight games by a combined score of 34-5. Sophomore Sloane Paulson proved to be the catalyst for JSerra, as she scored three of the team's first four goals to help stake JSerra to a 4-1 halftime lead. "We had a slow first half, offensively but the girls shut them out on defense early," Seidemann said. Paulsen capped a 6-0 Lions scoring burst in the third period with three goals in the final 3:13, as JSerra put the contest out of reach. "Sloane has being working extremely hard in all facets," Seidemann said. "I am pumped that we watched her blossom offensively when her team needed it most." The Lions will be in action next Thursday afternoon when they host Laguna Beach, and Seideman is looking forward to trying to build off the last two victories. "I am proud of the girls and excited about what's to come in next Thursday's game," Seidemann said. https://www.jserraathletics.org/sports/wwaterpolo/2023-24/releases/202312027313vd
