Tucson, AZ — The Palo Verde Titans had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Wednesday. They walked away with a 62-52 win over Walden Grove. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Palo Verde also won the last time the pair played last Saturday. Palo Verde's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Daniel Ortiz, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 16 rebounds. The contest was Ortiz's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Julian Blackburne, who scored 16 points along with 3 steals. Palo Verde has yet to lose a match at home this season, leaving them with a 7-1 record. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points per game. As for Walden Grove, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Palo Verde will stay at home for another game and welcome Florence at 7:00 p.m. on December 11th. Walden Grove won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Flowing Wells at 7:00 p.m. on December 7th. Flowing Wells has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 22.
