Huntington Beach, CA — Millikan and Foothill met for the first time at Huntington Beach High School for their December Turf Tournament. Millikan was the favored team but both teams were missing key players for the game and tournament. The teams were pretty evenly matched with both teams having chances and opportunities. The deadlock was broken in the 46th minute when a careless tackle was made by Tyler Reid at the edge of the 18 yard box. Despite the error, Reid made many clutch 1v1 saves to keep the Knights in the competition. 4 minutes later Foothill equalized on a corner kick from Tyler Valdez to Lucas Regan. Millikan continued to test Foothill's back line and nearly scored were it not for the bravery of Joshua Picker and strong defense by the back line. A 1-1 tie was a good result for Foothill against Millikan. The Knights play Mountain View tomorrow at 3pm.
