Cass City, MI — Cass City Red Hawks Varsity beat Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers 8-7 on Thursday after taking the lead late in the game. The game was tied at seven in the bottom of the sixth when Dylan Severance scored after tagging up. Cass City Red Hawks Varsity came back to win despite trailing 6-1 in the third. Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers opened the scoring in the first after Connor Partlo singled, scoring two runs. Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers added to their early lead in the top of the second inning when A Mendoza singled, scoring two runs, and Partlo grounded out, scoring one run. Cass City Red Hawks Varsity tied the game in the bottom of the fifth thanks to a solo home run to right field by Carter Patrick, a sacrifice bunt by Gavin Franzel, and a single by Garrett Reinke.
