The game was tied at five in the bottom of the fifth when Carson Anthes laid down a sacrifice bunt, scoring one run. Vassar Varsity Vulcans got on the board in the top of the first inning after Long singled, scoring two runs, and Albrecht laid down a sacrifice bunt, scoring one run. Vassar Varsity Vulcans added one run in the second after Vassar Varsity Vulcans scored on A pass ball. Cass City Red Hawks Varsity tied the game in the bottom of the second thanks to an error, and a sacrifice bunt by Matt Mellendorf. Vassar Varsity Vulcans took the lead in the top of the third.
