Plains, PA — From the Standard Speaker Kaitlyn Bindas (seven), Alexis Remold (six) and Sophia Shults (six) teamed for 19 first-quarter points as Hazleton Area built an early double-digit lead on its to way to a 64-35 thumping of Wilkes-Barre Area in a Wyoming Valley Conference Division 1 girls’ basketball game, Thursday, in Plains Twp. Bindas and Kayla Lagowy added five apiece in the second quarter to help the Lady Cougars (12-1, 5-0 WVC) stretch their advantage to 46-21 by halftime en route to their 10th consecutive win. Bindas finished as the game’s high scorer with 16 points. Lagowy, Shults and Reimold contributed 10, nine and eight, respectively. Katie Keating and Mahogany Robinson both netted 11 points for the Wolfpack. The Lady Cougars will play host to Wyoming Valley West on Monday.
