Traverse City, MI — The Lady Scots may have stayed up a little too late in the hotel on Friday night, which may have contributed to a slow start on Saturday early afternoon in a game against a solid Traverse City Central squad. The Scots battled early, trailing 13-15 after the first quarter, but a low-energy second half created a 14 point deficit when halftime came. However, the Scots fought back and trimmed that lead to points by the end of the third quarter. In the fourth quarter, Cal settled in defensively, only allowing two field goals and erasing a six point deficit with a Baylee Devries field goal that tied the game just before the final horn sounded. For the third time in five games, Cal entered overtime! Unfortunately, the Scots ran out of steam and were never able to respond to two early field goals by TCW. Great effort, but a more consistent 32 minutes was needed. Lily Gortmaker led the team with 13 points and 7 rebounds (Lakely Bottum also added 7 rebounds). Kathryn Langenburg added 12 points and 3 rebounds. Teresa Abraham totaled 7 points and Mackenzie Devries (3 assists) and Jolie King chipped in with five points each. Baylee Devries also added four, 4th quarter points.
