Burnt Hills, NY — The Burnt Hills Spartans fell 2-1 to Troy on Wednesday at BH-BL High School despite out-hitting them four to three. Atticus Marvin led the Spartans with two hits. Both teams were strong on the bump. Troy pitchers struck out five, while Ben Yerina for Burnt Hills sat down six. Troy got on the board in the third inning after Dan Keefe singled, scoring two runs. Jack Fraser earned the win for the Flying Horses. The right-handed pitcher gave up four hits and one run over seven innings, striking out five and walking four. Ben Yerina took the loss for the Spartans. The right-handed pitcher went seven innings, surrendering two runs (zero earned) on three hits, striking out six and walking one. Marvin went 2-for-3 at the plate as the outfielder led the team with one run batted in. Burnt Hills turned one double play in the game. Kolin Behan, Keefe, and Fraser each collected one hit for Troy. Keefe led the team with two runs batted in. The center fielder went 1-for-3 on the day. Burnt Hills will travel to Scotia-Glenville for their next game on Thursday.
