Punxsutawney, PA — From the Standard Speaker Stop if you've seen this before: the Lady Cougars race to an early double-digit lead and coast to victory. It happened again in the semifinals of the Carl Truance Holiday Tournament at Punxsutawney on Thursday, as Kaitlyn Bindas scored 11 first-quarter points and Alexis Reimold added six and Hazleton Area turned up its swarming pressure defense to jump out to a 26-13 lead and really never looked back in winning its fifth straight. Bindas finished with a game-high 21 points, Reimold and Kayla Lagowy each contributed eight and Olivia Williams and Sophia Shults netted seven apiece as the Lady Cougars punched their ticket to the tournament championship game against host Punxsutawney, a three-point winner over Marion Center in the other semifinal.
